ITEM DETAILS - A bit of History of The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick
For many years Sideshow performers have performed the effect of plunging their hand into the jaws of an animal trap. The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick was born right out of the Sideshow world.
I was first shown A stunt by a gospel preacher - Pete Hodge back in the early 90s and I first performed it as a sideshow stunt. Then in the late 1990’s, I  came up with what I called The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick combining the effect with a deck of cards.  This is when a chosen card is lost in a deck and the cards are placed into a trap. I then would snatch the card out of the deck before the trap snapped shut on my fingers.
I later discovered it was a common name for a  stunt when a trap and cards are combined!  I also discovered the following combinations -
The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick - involving a sword
The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick - involving a knife
The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick - involving a mouse trap.
I did some research and from what I could find at the time - the longest-standing magician that also used a pack of cards and an animal trap called their effect The World's Most Dangerous Card Trick was Master Payne. He had been performing his routine since the 80s. We talked about our different approaches and he was in full support of me using the title to best call my effect - The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick.

So now I am sharing my routine with you that has years of honing and the history of the influence from a sideshow perspective. I hope you enjoy it!

  • Reputation maker  - You can perform this as PR stunt or as a closer to your show

Mario Morris's effect “The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick” is taking the Magic World By storm. The simple premise of a signed card is lost in a deck and then placed into the jaws of a real animal trap. The Magician is able to locate the card and pluck it out from the pack at lightning speed before the animal trap snaps shut. This simple but very effective presentation has audiences spellbound often half covering their eyes, shrieking then sighs of relief can be heard from the audience as the effect is performed.

Great for – Street Performing, Publicity Stunts, Stage Shows, Cabaret and even Close Up Magic
Once you have the Download and animal trap you can perform this as performed and taught by Mario Morris – adding your own patter, personality and spin to it.

BONUS MATERIAL – Mentalism and Blindfold – The world's Most Dangerous Card Trick
More recently on Mario’s tour to Las Vegas, it was well received by the street-performing, stage performers students of the Magic and Mystery School and Headliner Magician Jeff McBride.

Mario lead a hands-on workshop and sold out yet again.
It has been performed in Las Vegas from the street to the stage.

REPORTS and feedback have been piling in.
One such report was by a street and festival performer Gavin DeMersseman who has used it over 50 times without so much as a paper cut.
Another report by a Magician Alan Burdick tells us how he is using the trap as a visual aid to illustrate the dangers of drug taken.
The effect was performed at sub-zero temperatures, at the highest point yet at an elevation of  10,947 feet in  Montana USA by Andrew Norstrum!
Since Mario released the effect in 2015 – it has sold out twice so far –  once during his performances and lecture at the Blackpool Magic Convention 2015. It also sold out in Las Vegas during Focus on Street Magic. It is now being shipped and performed around the world. Germany, Holland, Italy Portugal, France, Spain, Iceland, Holland Japan, Canada and the USA just to name a few.
In Las Vegas “The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick” is being performed from the street to the stage.

A signed card is lost in a deck of cards which is then put inside the jaws of a fully working animal trap!
The performer now claims he will ripple through the cards, find the signed card and pluck it out before the animal trap snaps shut on their fingers. This is exactly what appears to happen next.

A fantastic cliffhanger.  This effect is a great closer. As seen at the Blackpool Magic Convention 2015.

Mario Morris has been performing this effect for over a decade.
He now uses it for his commando-style street show.

Packing small and playing big with a huge cliffhanger finish.

Mario shows you how to do this with or without a blindfold.

He also shows how to perform it safely. (However, you perform this at your own risk and it is not to be performed by anyone under the age of 18.)

This product comes with a tried and tested trap and full Download instructions.

Love it! It does take nerves. I did it with the cards in a vertical position and felt hardly anything. Scared the wife, so that is a plus.

  • A real head-turner and makes people stop and watch!

I bought this two years ago after seeing it demonstrated at the Blackpool Magic Convention. I knew that this would be a brilliant piece in my street show, not only because it is an awesome trick but it's a real head-turner and makes people stop and watch.

The DVD instructions that you receive with the trap are very good giving you a run through of how it works as well as the safety of it all, that really put me to ease...

I have yet to do this blindfolded but have enjoyed every performance I've done so far.

Setting this trap on my table in the street from the start is a great way to build my crowd. The intrigue, the danger, it all helps to make people watch. Everyone loves a little bit of danger, don't they?!

    Don't buy this... IT'S A TRAP ...

But: It's a great trick... I bought this for my streetact and after a couple of hours testing (yes, you need nerves and BoS when you try it the first times... and YES - IT COULD HURT... I'm a MAN so... YES it could HURT!)
I decided not to wait for the next street show and did it in my Comedy-Magic-Show on stage... It was hilarious - People love the suspense, the weird idea to grap into a real animal trap (yes it is real) fits my style!
So it is part of my Stand-Up-Show now and I will show this also on my cruiseship-gigs next week round New Zealand!
I use it in the middle of my 45min act - but when street-Show-season starts it will become a closer... Perfect for hatlines ... Perfect Crowdkeeper!

The DVD is quite good explanation - I think to perform this trick right you should know about "basic Cardcontrol" (which is also shown on the DVD, but a Pro should be able to manage this :)).
Mario also shows a "blindfold version" - I think I will give this a try on streets as well :)

Thanks Mario for sharing this routine!

The Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick

    5 Stars

Before Christmas 2015 I brought the Worlds Most Dangerous Card Tricks produced by Mario Morris. It truly is great and a fantastic prop. I have used a few different closer for my show but no of them really fit and fix in. However the Worlds Most Dangerous Card Trick seems to fit the bill very well. It has a natural hook the promise of something dangerous. Then when you show people it there not going anywhere. And once the deck is in the trap and you explain what you’re going to do well you have all the time for hat lines.

The video is clear and straight forward and carries a lot of information and ideas. However I would say you need confidence in the very basics of card control at least.

I’d also like to note the customer care is great as well. I had a few question before I ordered it and I got a quick reply. I also got order confirmation and delivery tracker straight away. These guys are good at what they do.

Thank you so much Mario and Lady Vee this is really is a great piece and it’s in my show already and it working a treat.

    Alan Worman.

This is an amazing effect. I was looking for a cardtrick that is not like any other cardtrick and this was it. I am looking forward to perform this on stage and in the street or if I have to do an impromptu setup. If everybody have seen enough cardtricks this is the one to do. Thank you Mario for selling this one. Regards Gunter (Belgium)
